How does the free assessment work?
You answer about 12 quick questions on your age, position, playing level, training and an honest self-rating of your game. We organise your answers into the four corners of player development (technical, physical, psychological and social) and give you a Player Development Score out of 100, with the areas that would help your game most right now. It takes about two minutes and the score is free.
Does the score predict whether I will play professionally?
No, and be wary of anything that claims it can. The score describes your game as you report it on the day and organises it into four development corners. Whether a player goes on to play at any level depends on things no questionnaire can measure, like coaching, opportunity, growth, injuries and being seen. Use the score to decide what to work on, not as a verdict.
What does the Player Development Score measure?
It summarises what you tell us about your level, age, training and your own rating of your game into four development corners, using the scoring rules set out on our methodology page. The weighting is informed by published work on the FA four-corner model, the relative age effect and maturation, and late developers are not marked down for their size. It reflects your answers on the day, not a coach's measurement, and it does not predict the level you will reach.
How do you get scouted for football?
Play at the highest level you can reach, perform consistently in the games scouts actually watch - district and county trials, showcase tournaments and academy open days - and make yourself easy to find. The Player Development Plan includes a step-by-step get-seen checklist and a copy-paste trial-request email you can send to academy recruitment teams.
Can parents take the test for their child?
Yes. The assessment is for players aged 8 to 30, and for a player under 16 a parent or guardian fills it in with them and makes any purchase. The plan gives parents a realistic, pressure-free picture of the pathway with concrete ways to support development, from training structure to trials.
What do I get in the 90-day Player Development Plan for £9.99?
90 days of structured development, starting from your result: your full plan from this assessment: the four corners explained, your position profile and the routes open at your age and level; two priority areas for the 90 days, with a weekly training structure; a checklist of the recommended actions to tick off as you go; up to 6 check-in assessments before your last day, each with its own updated plan; your starting point and every check-in side by side, corner by corner, with a trend for each area once there are three results; four standard physical tests with set procedures: record your results and see your latest against your first, like for like; local services related to your priority areas, chosen by published rules, never paid placement; email reminders to check in around day 30 and day 60, and a note before it ends. You pay once. It ends automatically after 90 days: it does not renew and does not turn into a subscription. The plans you received stay readable afterwards.
What does the Progress Tracker cost?
The Progress Tracker is a separate subscription at £2.99 a month. It renews every month until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime. It charts your Player Development Score across unlimited reassessments and reminds you to retest, so you can see how each part of your game changes month by month.
